Cheer Up Mission 7 - The First Run

It was just another boring night at the Mansion. Lewis and Vivi were having flying and make-out sessions, more of the latter, Jinny was helping the Insane Doctor make a pet, and Del was staring at the moon out of boredom on the balcony. It was half-way to being full and the air had the perfect amount of moisture and warmth.

"Del?"

She turned and saw Arthur coming out of the door.

"Everything okay?" he asked.

"Yes... bored..."

"Yeah. I can relate." He joined her at staring at the moon.

She glanced over and noticed the worry in his eyes. "Everything... fine..."

"I doubt it. The moon's close to being full..."

"But... half..."

"I know, but it still scares me... I wish there was a way for me to be able to turn on command rather than when the moon is full... or if I was cured..."

Del placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm here... help... ask..."

"I know." He placed his hand over hers. "And I appreciate it, but there's not a lot you can do..."

"...research... cure...?"

"I HIGHLY doubt it... Besides, even if there was the Doc would probably have it and I do NOT want to have to go through him to get it. That 'infirmary' of his scares me enough as is."

"Want... out...?"

He looked over to her. "What do you mean?"

"Run... forest... secluded..."

"You mean, like, running away?!"

"No! Cure... boredom..."

"Oh." Then it hit him. "OH! I suppose so... I should leave something for Vivi just in case anyone comes looking for us."

"I... not... run..."

"But you can ride, can't you?... That came out dirtier than I intended..."

Del giggled and then nodded to her companion.

Arthur ran through the forest that was next to the Mansion, ducking and weaving past the trees. He was on all fours making it easier for Del to hang on.

She was right. This is MUCH better than staring at the giant space rock in the sky.

After a few more minutes of running, Arthur stopped to catch his breath. He stood up and Del placed her feet onto the ground and he went over to lean on a tree.

"Are... feeling... okay...?"

"Yeah... just tired... give me a... minute..." He inhaled as much oxygen into his lungs as he could and Del checked their surroundings.

"You... okay?" he asked.

"Yes... admiring..."

A smile came to his face. "Me?"

"No... forest..."

"Oh..." His face fell. He didn't catch her blush which was a good thing.

Once Arthur stared to breathe normally, the two sat down at the base of a tree and stared into the sky. Then Arthur noticed something.

"This was pointless..."

"What...?"

"We left the Mansion to not stare at the moon and yet we're staring at the moon."

Del giggled a little at their predicament.

"Well then... what do we do?"

Del cupped his chin and made him look at her. He was just about to ask what she was going to do when she kissed him. He was shocked but soon he melted into it.

"Arthur!" a voice cried in the distance.

They both turned to the voice and recognized it as Vivi's.

"Arthur! Del!" came another.

"Del!"

"Marco!"

After a few seconds of silence that voice cried "ow!"

The mummy and the werewolf giggled and walked towards the voices hand in hand...
